Like it or not, you are a negotiator

The application procedure 2018-2019

The start of the new academic year is a fact, and so is the start of the application procedure of our Negotiation Track 2018-2019. We are delighted to see that students from almost every single faculty in Leuven has pre-registered. The LCM SA message has been spreading over Leuven and this encourages us to make the new negotiation track even better than last year. Once again, 36 students will get the opportunity to enhance their negotiation skills during an elaborated program.

In the timeline below, the schedule of the general application procedure is shown. The official start of the 2018-2019 application procedure is September 30th. From then on, we are ready to receive your motivation letters. This letter must convince us that you are passionate about the art of negotiation and highly motivated to participate in every single workshop. Your curriculum vitae should not be included. We are looking to be convinced that you understand what negotiation is truly about, in combination with a hunger for knowledge. All these letters will be evaluated by the recruitment team in accordance with the rest of the board. The application deadline is October 3th. If you have any questions about the organization, negotiation track, etc. then be sure to attend our Info Event on October 1st. We will answer all your questions there with pleasure.

If we are convinced by your passion for negotiation, you will be invited for an interview. This confirmation follows on October 6th. The 36 students who impress us the most during their 10-15 minutes in-take interview will become part of the negotiation track and they will receive the good news October 16th.

Note: These data only apply to not pre-registered students. All those who have pre-registered will get an e-mail on the first day of the academic year with information about the motivation letter. They will have the opportunity to send their motivation letter before the general procedure.

The track consists of both theoretical and practical sessions. Every workshop builds further on previous ones and has its place in the whole. At the end of the academic year, we reward the members who succeeded the negotiation track with a certificate. We do not allow our members to miss a workshop without a legitimate reason, because at that point we cannot guarantee they master negotiation skills.

Besides our core business, which is learning our members how to negotiate, we want them to have fun! We are not some dull organization that only organizes theoretical classes, we are much more than that. At the end of the fifth week, we already organize our members weekend. During this weekend the main idea is based on getting to know each other in a friendly environment. Also, a Christmas dinner and a New Year’s reception are on the program.
