On the 28th of July, LCM SA held its last major preparatory meeting. We take you with us behind the scenes, as we go through the course of the day.
As always, preparation is key. We already met during Spring Break, where we drafted the first timeline and assembled our ‘Governing Dynamics’-document. We wanted to ensure that our meeting would be as productive as it possibly could be.
meeting, all brand-new board members already worked out important projects for
next year. As we are a vastly growing association, it is important to keep
expanding our horizons: Head in the clouds, feet on the ground.
We met in Agora in the morning. After catching up with one another, it was time to get down to business. The first bit was also the most bitter: we had to get technical, logging in to platforms (Dropbox, Podio) and activate our inboxes that we use for all our organizational content. The many technical aspects of this topic required Maarten to immediately prove his skills, necessary for his role as Knowledge Director. We stand reassured.
After all the technical stuff, we could really use a break and some fresh air. Luckily for us, the most extreme part of this summer’s heatwave took the weekend off as well. We headed to the park to make photos for our website. To our surprise, there was a giant air castle in the park. We are still in doubt if Ewout secretly rented it. What be of it, it helped us recharging for the second part of the day.
In the afternoon, it was time to address all projects and ambitions for next year. During previous meetings, we already laid the groundwork on these issues, finding an unified vision. Now it was up to the directors to present the goals of their sub-divisions. Each and every one of them came with specific action plans and different options on how to divide and elaborate.
After having interesting discussions on these topics all we can say is: the best is yet to come! With a good feeling for next year, it was time to head home. We accomplished our goals for that day and are ready to start our adventure. Stay tuned!
